Titan Flooring Limited delivered the extensive flooring package for the transformation of the historic North Western Hall into Radisson RED Liverpool, a landmark building situated alongside Liverpool Lime Street station.
Originally opened in 1871 as one of Britain's grand railway hotels, the Grade II listed building provided a unique setting for the creation of a contemporary hotel while retaining the character and architectural heritage of the original property.
Working for Deansgate Contractors Limited, Titan Flooring undertook a £750,000 package covering approximately 12,000m² over a 43-week programme.
A significant element of our works involved the extensive preparation and levelling of existing floors throughout the historic building. This included cementitious screeds and plywood build-ups, creating suitable substrates for the wide variety of new floor finishes.
Our installation package included luxury vinyl tile (LVT) to bedrooms and bathrooms, together with LVT finishes throughout key public and amenity spaces. Durable commercial vinyl flooring was installed within back-of-house areas, alongside specialist performance flooring within the hotel gym.
The finished interiors successfully combine the building's Victorian architecture with the bold, contemporary character of the Radisson RED brand. The flooring plays an important part in that transition, from the warm timber-effect finishes running through bedrooms and public areas to the carefully detailed flooring within the hotel's dramatic communal spaces.
The project demonstrates Titan Flooring's experience in delivering large-scale, technically demanding flooring packages within complex refurbishment environments, where extensive preparation, multiple floor finishes and the constraints of an historic building all need to be successfully coordinated.
