Building responsibly
Sustainability
We build with the future in mind — reducing carbon and waste, sourcing materials responsibly, and supporting the people and communities behind every Horbury Group project.
Responsible by design
Sustainability runs through how we plan, source and deliver our work. From the materials we specify to the way we run our sites, we take practical steps to lower our environmental impact while supporting our workforce, supply chain and the communities we work in.
- Reducing our carbon footprintWe measure and cut emissions across our operations — from efficient site logistics and low-emission plant to smarter travel and energy use in our offices and depots.
- Cutting waste to landfillWe design out waste, segregate materials on site and work with recycling partners to divert the vast majority of construction waste away from landfill.
- Responsible sourcingWe prioritise responsibly-sourced, certified materials and work with a supply chain that shares our environmental and ethical standards.
- Supporting our peopleInvesting in training, apprenticeships and safe, fair working conditions keeps our workforce skilled, healthy and part of the communities we build in.
Measurable commitments
Our approach
- 01
Measure
We track carbon, waste and resource use so decisions are driven by real data, not assumptions.
- 02
Reduce
We design out waste and emissions at source — choosing efficient methods, materials and logistics.
- 03
Reuse & recycle
Materials are segregated and diverted from landfill, keeping resources in use wherever possible.
- 04
Improve
We review performance on every project and set tougher targets year on year.
