Titan Interior Solutions (TIS) has been appointed by Castle Building Services to deliver the joinery works on the South Tyneside College campus development - a transformational redevelopment in the heart of South Shields town centre.
The scheme includes a brand-new 15,000 sqm campus building, the redevelopment of existing buildings into additional facilities, and new Halls of Residence. It also covers the change of use, refurbishment and alteration of 16 Barrington Street — a Grade II listed building — to provide further college accommodation.
Funded by South Tyneside College, the Department for Education, the North East Combined Authority and UK Government, and delivered in partnership with South Tyneside Council, the project is set to open in September 2027. It will provide state-of-the-art facilities for further education, marine training and technical skills, and is expected to attract thousands of learners and visitors each year — playing a key role in supporting skills, jobs and economic growth across South Tyneside and the wider region.
Designed to achieve a BREEAM "Very Good" rating and delivered using Building Information Modelling (BIM), the project reflects a strong commitment to sustainability and precision throughout the build.
This is a fantastic win for TIS, and we're proud to be playing our part in delivering these landmark education facilities for the North East.
