DMU's new Vijay Patel Building will become home to the faculty of Arts, Design and Humanities and will offer sector-leading facilities to students. The pioneering Confucius Institute promoting Chinese language and culture will also be housed in a purpose-built structure attached to the complex.

Horbury Group were responsible for the design, manufacture and installation of over 3000m2 of Reynobond aluminium composite material in a striking Bronze colour. A smoked Silver ACM was also used to picture frame expanses of glazing,  highlighting contrasts in the different envelope materials.  The Reynobond ACM projecting features included a mixture of different colours within the reveal construction.

Over 2000m2 of Argeton terracotta Rainscreen was installed in a 1200mm module, including a tight radius curved element to the West elevation . 800m2 of a new through coloured fibre cement panels were installed at low level on a secret fixed support system. Over 1500m2 of insulated thin coat render was installed to the existing tower. The copings were installed using a secret fixed method of installation and were fabricated both straight and curved. A close working relationship with the design team, CPMG Architects limited and strong leadership, communication and commitment from the Horbury team through the supply chain, helped to deliver a striking  project.
