New build construction of three Magistrates Courts in Humberside.

The project is a Private Finance Initiative(PFI) to provide and maintain new Magistrates Courts in Beverley, Bridlington and Hull.

All three Magistrates Courts are new build construction, Beverley a two storey building organised around an entrance hall giving access to the courts arranged linearly on the first floor, Bridlington again a two storey building, symmetrical pavilion with Hull being a three storey building, the largest of the three Magistrates Courts occupying an important gateway location situated on the edge of the town centre.

The works incorporated all the partition walls, ceilings, plastering, first fix joinery, toilet cubicles and second fix joinery and a number of bespoke manufactured joinery items such as reception counters, bag check counters and bullet proof security screens. Taking into consideration the nature of the contract we employed site managers for each individual Magistrates Court building to assist the main contractor where possible.

Due to the programme restrictions the majority of the works were carried out within a six-month period with labour levels peaking at around 70 men spread across the three sites.
