Implementation of first and second fix joinery for this new hospital facility.
St James Mental Health Unit consists of a 2/3-storey building, comprising five wards, an outpatients' department and administration facilities.
MWS Joinery Limited was contracted by Ballast Construction North to carry out the first and second fix joinery for the project, including doors, screens, kitchens, ironmongery, fixtures and fittings. The company also undertook work directly for the client in connection with the installation of their own fixtures and fittings.
Given that the new unit was being built next to a functioning hospital and the Leeds air ambulance station, health and safety restrictions were paramount. In recognition of their work in this area, MWS Joinery Ltd received a special health and safety award from Ballast Construction North.
