Winner of the ‘drylining contracts over £750,000’ award at the 2007 Federation of Plastering and Drywall Contractors (FPDC) awards.

The Manchester Civil Justice Centre comprises 47 court rooms, tribunal and hearing rooms plus offices and facilities for judges in a landmark 16-storey building featuring an 11-storey atrium and a spectacular 63m by 60m cavity glass wall along its edge. Meeting the requirement for natural daylight and ventilation impacted greatly on Horbury Group's works which comprised the internal partitions, acoustic wall linings, timber funnels, ceilings and associated components both structural and aesthetic. Suspended within the ceiling void Horbury constructed the Light-Air duct, a system never used before in the UK and used only once before worldwide (in Australia). This technically complex, logistically challenging project was completed on schedule by Horbury Building Systems Ltd, Titan Ceilings Ltd and MWS Joinery Ltd.
