Horbury Group played a major role in the planning and construction of this new hospital.

The Horbury Group played a major role in the construction of a new NHS hospital at Bishop Auckland in County Durham, within the grounds of the existing working facility.

As part of the package, Horbury Building Systems Limited provided the internal partitioning and the external ‘Metsec Framing', which replaced the block work inner leaf of the traditional cavity wall. This enabled Shepherds (the main contractor) to remove the brickwork activity from the critical path and achieve a watertight building early in the construction schedule.

Titan Ceilings Limited installed the suspended ceilings, including a specialist X-ray ceiling to support sensitive equipment.

All the bespoke joinery, such as the main reception counter and nurses' stations, were constructed by MWS Joinery Limited.
