Conversion of the previous residence of the Bishop of Rotherham carried out under a design and build contract.
Close liaison with the planning authority ensured that this listed building was sensitively developed to bring the building back to its former stature in this prominent location.
The listed building required a complete strip out including asbestos removal and timber treatment throughout. All roof coverings and leadwork were replaced and new foundations, structural walls and tanking installed within the existing building as necessary.
The building is constructed from the local “ Rotherham red “ sandstone, the original quarry was located to provide new stonework such as window mullions and heads to match the existing.
The apartments were constructed to comply with the latest standards and with modern fully fitted kitchens, fully tiled bathrooms and ensuites etc. Provision for t.v. and telephone was pre-installed and cctv access control incorporated for each apartment.
