The Horbury Group were responsible for the design, manufacture and installation of the Corten (weathered steel) rainscreen cladding cassettes and perforated screens, the alucobond rainscreen panels to walls, reveals and soffits, development of a solar voltaic support frame through the rainscreen and the copings to the glass and brick façade's. The saw toothed soffits and fascia's were provided in the university corporate colours to enhance the identity of the project. Particular challenges were over come to accommodate the client brief particularly around the perforated coreten screens the bespoke rainscreen background system for the support of the corten panels and frames system capable of supporting the PVU's. The alucobond entrances and soffits were set out and detailed to accommodate strip lighting that enhances the modern look of the building. A strong working relationship and understanding with Bond Bryan Architects ( Sheffield) helped to develop the design intent around the limitations of the actual site conditions which in turn delivered a stunning and successful project.
